S&C Named a Member of EPA’s Elite Green Power Leadership Club

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named S&C Electric Company a member of the 2016 Green Power Leadership Club. S&C joined the elite group of Green Power Partners by meeting the club’s green power use requirements.

The EPA requires members of the group to meet a minimum percentage of their electricity use with power generated from eligible renewable resources, including solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, eligible biomass, and eligible low-impact hydroelectric sources.

“S&C takes great pride in being a sustainable company, and using power generated entirely by renewable sources is among the important ways we can help the planet,” says Mark Stavnes, S&C Chief Operating Officer. “We are very proud to have been named a member of the EPA’s Green Power Leadership Club.”

The EPA automatically includes all partner organizations in the club that report they are using the qualifying amount of green power. The minimum green power use requirement for club members must be met with 100 percent “new” renewables, according to the EPA. The green power must be sourced from eligible U.S.-based generation facilities, and it must be applied to U.S.-based operations only.
