Jim Johnson Jr

Jim is responsible for leading our overall corporate initiatives to improve quality, cost, lead time, and delivery through the processes, methods, and principles of the Lean Performance System. A 19-year veteran of S&C, Jim has been responsible for S&C’s operations in the U.S., China, and Mexico since 2021.

Prior to this role, Jim was responsible for the Fabrication, Assembly, and Production Support organizations at our U.S. manufacturing locations in Chicago, Illinois; Franklin, Wisconsin; Alameda, California; and West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He began working at S&C in various co-op and part-time roles while still in school. After graduating, he joined S&C full time as an engineer in the Facilities Engineering group, where he spent 7 years. He eventually moved into Operations as a supervisor in the machine shop. After several promotions that took him through assignments in U.S. Fabrication, U.S. Assembly, and International Operations in Mexico and China, Jim settled into his current role as Chief Operating Officer. He is proud to have spent his entire career with S&C. He is active in multiple industry groups with a focus on lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
